Typical reserve is 5 on in a row with minimum 11 off total for the month. Reserves are utilized heavily and typically only sit on actual reserve days once or twice per month, considering domicile, of course.

Thanks for the info. Any idea what the current new hire/junior FO domiciles are?

As of the last class, everyone was being assigned IAD/DCA. But by the time you get on board, they might have staffed IAD/DCA enough and then send you to the next "flavor of the month".

7 FOs moved to DEN for December. According to the the COO on our last "call-in" company call he said DEN is as permanent for us as anything in this industry is. Worst case you might have to wait a few months, but at this rate it looks like people are getting it pretty quick. The most junior of recent transfers was hired mid-April. The current list shows 8 FOs waiting for DEN.

Just curious, how many new hires is TSA bringing on these days? I'm considering the R2W program but still on the fence.

Also does anyone know how they do the written test for those doing the Skype interview?

No written test for Skype interviews.

Thanks for this reply! I forgot to reply back!

So whats the current vibe working at TSA? Any rumors on more pay/incentives? Whats the attrition rate looking like? Does the captain list have decent movement or is it top heavy with lifers? Is the airline staffed enough to even sit reserve or are you assigned a trip as soon as you call in? Which base would be the easiest to commute out of ATL?

Looks like I will be joining the TSA family soon so I am just trying to get as much info as possible on how my future may or may not look! Thanks!

Hey man, Have you Considered A ndeavor? New hires are getting ATL. More days off on reserve, faster upgrades, better management, better pay. Can't tell for sure but I see in some of your posts you are possible a rotor guy but close to the requirements to get an ATP. Might be worth pre-spending your Endeavor bonus on that. Commuting out of ATL can be tough especially if you don't have any priority on Delta.

Most are pretty happy but anxious about contract negotiations and pay raises. Rumors are there will be no Endeavor like payraises. Company made a token effort to increase the bonus structure but it does not compete with Endeavor. Hoping contract negotiations are swift but most are expecting a dogfight over QOL issues and min day pay. The loss of our previous DO will be felt during these negotiations.

Whats the attrition rate looking like?
Not much now but expected to increase significantly this spring.

Decent movement. Many of the "lifers" are looking at opportunities outside of TSA

Heard reserves are flying a lot but it is always subject to change.

Which base would be the easiest to commute out of ATL?
ORD or IAD. Maybe STL but those flights are full a lot.

Welcome aboard! Just keep a sense of humor and don't get discouraged when things get rocky around here. Its a great pilot group and the Chief pilots are all good guys that will help you as much as possible.
