So tell us what you are concerned about. Start the conversation rather than bomb throwing and hiding behind “do your own research about a topic I won’t even name.”

Seriously. You start a thread with no info and no details? Then when someone asks for details or clarification you hide behind "find out for yourself"? Gimme a break. Either spill what you know under the guise of rumor until confirmed or don't start the thread at all.

I really think some people just like to act all cloak and dagger and "neener neener I know something you dont" just because it makes them feel special or important.

Nope. Not at all. I just don't want to post alleged details on an 'anonymous' web site. (It ain't anonymous)

Word got out at the MEC meeting (before the beating) that DePete retired from FDX as of Dec 31 and deferred his pension, thus essentially double dipping.

I have yet to hear anything further.

Is your concern that he resigned and can now get his pension plus the ALPA MC salary which a line pilot could not do (ALPA MC is paid by ALPA not Fedex)?

But you still want to start threads about such things.

Is it legal?

Is it a Delta smear campaign because of drama at the elections?

From my perspective, Delta pilots are the most vindictive, politically amoral gangsters I have ever seen. Is someone, somewhere at another airline getting a marginally good deal? We must snuff it out when put an end to this nonsense even if it's well within the rules of the union. Quick! Bring your pitchforks!

I don't know anything about that. I don't GAS about National politics as I am not in any way involved. However, I am just a little miffed that 1) He 'retired" right after taking the job. 2) He deferred his FDX retirement (allegedly) so that he will be able to double dip at the ALPA fund.

Legal? Yeah probably. But the optics aren't good.

I have no agenda against the man because he came from somewhere other than Delta. I couldn't tell you where ANY of the national officers are from. I do not care. And I just heard about this today. If you are good with this kind of thing, then please scroll on. I think it is pretty low if true though.

And the reason that I wanted people to call their reps was not to be all 'cloak and dagger', but to find other confirmation than internet rumors. Sorry to have brought it up. I guess it's all good.
