And then we can work another job, collect a military retirement, do whatever we want.

I would love to have Delta's profit sharing. I'm sure many pilots for other carriers would like to have our pension. We can all work towards getting the benefits that other carriers have, but it comes across poorly to be resentful of this.

Joe DePete is one of the good ones. He is one of us, not someone who has tried to be in management all of his career. I find it offensive that some are trying to stir up discontent and jealousy.
I agree and apologize for some of my Delta brethren. As I mentioned before it’s what they do on nearly every issue they disagree with.

You are apologizing for asking the question as to what is going on? You certainly don't speak for me. I appreciate his answer, however in over 13 pages of responses it was the first to actually address the issue.

Sounds to me like a hit job from a few double breasted cry babies. What’s the deal are you Delta boys jealous of our “entire retirement” package. We’re you embaresed to find out that after ALPA national did it’s research under the previous administration that FedEx was head and shoulders above your 16% DC only package. Joe is taking what he earned and actually delaying it to satisfy the stone throwers. Hey lets chastise every mil guy who takes his retirement while working at an ALPA airline to make this argument fair.

Just to point out our DC package is effectively about 18%. With the cap on your DB plan I would not use the term head and shoulders above. A 16% DB over a 30 year career is usually considered to approximate at 60 FAE plan.

Ask ALPA national to see the findings of the research. FDX is at minimum 7% higher for total qualified retirement contributions.

He’s right about it being better than our 16%. We absolutely need to get our DC to 20%
