ALPA Election -Regional Pilots ACT NOW

If anyone would like to know, ALPA is about ready to vote in the next set of National Officers. A friend called me who is at the meeting and wanted to pass along it is time for anyone people to call/email their ALPA reps before the vote is taken Wednesday.

As a regional guy, I am writing my rep to ask him to elect Scott Stratton, he is a Federal Express pilot and will be a true leader and can navigate ALPA out of the significant issues we all face.

It sounds like the standard Legacy guys, especially Rice from UAL, are spreading the same old message "we are all one...." what are they saying behind closed doors? Besides that what have these lifers done?

Anyone working a regional airline should be concerned. Please help ALPA send the world a real message, VOTE in a non-legacy freighter guy to lead ALPA!

Thanks

It doesn't matter, their all politicians. You wont know their true colors until they are elected.

Vote for the best person. We don't need lifers like Rice. We need someone with proven performance and not part of the status quo. Stratton is that guy.

Well, only the MEC reps get to vote and they have probably decided who their vote is going to. Maybe a little too late to campaign

It sounds like there is some pooling of power going on down there. I think that everyone will be surprised with the outcome. (Maybe not surprised, but maybe not the guys in the top spot that they assumed would be there)

Lots o sausage making going on this week.

Think again. Tonight is when the politics, back room deals and lobbying (and promises) really begin over bottles of expensive scotch.

As we speak in the expensive suites of DAL, UAL CAL politics is at its finest.

We will know tomorrow.

Oh yeah, there's plenty of politicking going on tonight.

Yep, if lets say one group that has a guy running for President is willing to take the VP slot, and throw their weight behind someone else, then the balance of the election will be turned.

I have my bets on two of the three viable candidates doing this very thing.

Thanks for the blow-by-blow. Can you clarify how the voting is conducted? Is it a voice roll call vote, or does the BOD use swipe cards (electronic voting) now?

Electronic balloting. Each status rep. has their allotment of votes to cast in the booth. Really an easy process and the results are tabulated quickly.
