Operation who? The site kept saying "we", but I couldn't find any information about who is sponsoring that site.
Nothing like trying to build credibility by hiding behind anonymity. |

The .pdfs are well written but it wouldn't hurt to have a professional site made. Still a little confused about it's mission statement.

I was taking it seriously until I got to the part about rub your nose like the guys in "The Sting" as a message to other pilots you pass in the terminal...

Nothing like trying to build credibility by hiding behind anonymity. Again, if you care to make the effort and read all the material, you will find most of it is very well thought out even if some is a bit hokey. Most pilots on this forum would gladly accept the minimum work rules and pay ($150 per hour for narrowbody FO) Don't dismiss this effort. Our Unions/Associations are powerless under the RLA. Our profession will continue to decline if we rely on pattern bargaining. Get on FACEBOOK "Operation Orange 2011" and make your concerns known. Maybe one of you can come up with a better idea or an additional method for helping this work. Haven't seen a better idea in a long time. Or, just continue to be treated like the blue collar heavy equipment operators that you apparently believe your are. Oh, maybe that is a bad example, they have the Teamsters helping them get respect. |
Let's do something real and effective: Operationorange2011 on Wordpress or the new sight coming up OPERATION ORANGE 2011 | Protecting the Flying Public & Restoring the Piloting Profession. You've got to read a bunch of material to get a real understanding.
Then, post your thoughts at "Operation Orange 2011" on FACEBOOK. Maybe you've got some ideas better than just picketing. This will work if 20% of the pilot force gets on board. Come on... we are becoming a LAUGHING-STOCK to the public ("thanks for working for peanuts so we can fly SFO-JFK for almost nothing") but especially MANAGEMENT (thanks for continuing to fly kids...we love our homes in Aspen and Monaco")! Here is a little excerpt from the "Fair Treatment of Experienced Pilots" Act that is being proposed: 2. Minimum hourly rates of pay for payable hours in section 4.F shall be: a. $300.00 per hour for widebody aircraft Pilot in Command/Captain, b. $225.00 per hour for narrowbody aircraft Pilot in Command/Captain, c. $200.00 per hour for widebody aircraft Second in Command/First Officer, d. $150.00 per hour for narrowbody aircraft Second in Command/First Officer. I still believe it is a little low for what we have to go thru to get there. But it is a start. And the QOL and work rules are much better than average. At least management can't pull out the "We can't be competitive at those rates" if we all start at that point. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE INFORMATION! WE ARE WORTH IT! |
