He's probably a troll.
What's sad is that the GOP used to be the party of Lincoln, the party that valued labor. Yet, in the past 2-3 decades the GOP has tried to exterminate unions from the face of the earth. In part because unions too often get involved in politics when they shouldn't but mostly because their corporate donors such as the Koch brothers demand that of them.
When will the erosion stop?

Gotcha. You're one of those free thinkers who's smarter than the Supreme Court and all of us Luddites who mistakenly think using a collective bargaining agent (only a fraction of what ALPA does for us) is improving our QOL. I'm sure you and your brethren who have figured out unions are just a scam will turn commercial pilot from a profession where a mid level captain can be in the top one percent of income earners with over half the month off, into a job where the cap is being in the top ten percent of earners working 20 days a month with little standing between you and unemployment beyond the good will of your employer. If the independent contractor is the future of our profession, I'm glad I'll be retired watching with nothing more than detached interest when you take over.

The company should be under no obligation to give union benefits to non-union employees. If you want to join the union and possibly get more protection, better pay, etc, then you should be able to. If you don't, then you shouldn't be able to receive the benefits. It's really just that simple.

Um, actually, that's exactly how a workforce determines whether it will or won't unionize.

And to think, The Supremes got all those degrees from those high fallutin' universities, passed bar exams, spent years clerking and as federal jurists, getting approved by Congress twice, when all they really needed to do is read the gol durn Constitution. Who knew it was so simple? Thanks for setting us all straight.

You should visit 36th St. in MIA. You'd fit right in.
