Default Man delays Shanghai-Newark flight for 3 hours

But did he get off in SFO:

United Flight Makes Unscheduled Stop at SFO Due to Unruly Passenger | NBC Bay Area

or did he get off in Shanghai:

Uncooperative passenger delays United Airlines

The way I'm reading it, he got off in Shanghai after a two hour delay. By that time, the crew was only legal to operate to SFO so they went there and another crew met the flight.

That's how I read it, but go read the other link where it states:

The man was removed from the plane at SFO before the flight continued on its way to the East Coast. Passengers were delayed more than three hours on the already lengthy flight.

Deplaned first. Learning has occurred.

So far, the deplaning process has worked. Devil's advocate here....what happens when one or MORE pax refuse? Guess that brings it back to square one to have people forcibly removed.

And that may become the new policy--everyone get off before law enforcement gets on. Videos somehow seem different in the gate area vs in a narrow plane aisle. Plus, the passengers now get it after 300 are inconvenienced by a single selfish actor.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- everyone's all sympathy until they're the ones being personally inconvenienced. Make people wait a few hours in PVG then recrew in SFO and that outpouring of support and concern as shown to Dr. Dao dries up pretty quickly...

What a difference. Nearly a mob scene yelling "lock him up".
