United pax forcibly removed from flight

Man. I wouldn't want to work in United's social media department right now.

Apparently flight was oversold. No volunteers. A few deadheads needed to get on. I'm sure there were about 10 better ways to handle this than literally dragging someone off the plane.

We need stuff like this to put the fear of God into the flying public. Comply or you will pay!

(^^that was sarcasm, BTW ^^)

How many times was he asked to get off the plane like a rational human being? The video doesn't show the tantrum he threw before the police decided this was the best course of action. If we caved to every person throwing a tantrum it would be pure chaos in the back.

Why was he asked at all? Because $800 and a hotel room is the limit before people are forcibly removed? Everyone on that plane had a price, and whatever is was, it's orders of magnitude less than what this is going to cost United in PR and/or legal fees.

If you notice the guy dragging him off was not in a police uniform. That begs a lot of questions. If it's a United employee he has exposed himself and his employee to a world of legal pain.

Should have let the cops do it.

no matter how you try to flip this..its still a PR nightmare for UAL.. Fly the Friendly Skies is a joke. Customer always wins at the end of the day...(wallet)
