Not really asking for much but you Millenials my way or the highway approach is amazingly selfish.
You going to carry a pocket F/O with you? You need to try decaffeinated.

Wear them while doing the walk around for all I care but if it effects your ability to hear me and you won't even make an effort to partially displace one of the cups, you're affecting the safe operation of the A/C.

We aren't required to wear them and it's you, not me who will be tap dancing away in the CPO for an explanation as to why you were removed from the trip.
I have justification. Hearing protection in a loud airplane, fatigue etc. Your justification is "because I'm the captain and I said so"
Captain sets the tone...you said it before, and that tone reeks of "**** FO and get the gear".

I love how when faced with a reasonable response the answer is to always call the other person a Snowflake.

Harmony setup supposed to be TSO certified in the next month/two. I'm not how close in price... believe A20 new is $1100 vs Qc25 setup at less than $600.

Guess you didn't read my entire post, shocker. If necessary, and its only happened once or twice, I politely ask the F/O to tilt back his left cup so he can hear me better. Thats it. Nothing sinister or devious in my behavior but of course the over-reactors in the mob dive right in and make their nonsensical comments.

Several other posters indicated that I was to adjust to the F/O which I replied that I would not. I'm not getting a headset and am not required to do so. If you're under the mistaken impression that I should, please read the FOM.

Sorry but snowflake covers perfectly the ridiculous comments about our delicate Pilots and their feelings and how dare the big bad Captain not assimilate. I'da had my ass handed to me back when I came on board and started making demands that the left-seater do as I do or else. Glad those of you who choose to wear those things do and when your 99 years old you'll be able to hear a pin drop from 50'. Hope you enjoy that but not everyone agrees with your taste in headgear and you need to get over it.

SWA guy, as mentioned before we all wear headsets so no real dog in the fight. Have Bose and DC Pro-X. Wear the DC in the guppy and it's more than adequate ANR for that. I find it lighter, more comfortable, easier to transport, and more sunglass friendly than the Bose. Wear the Bose at my side job flying Hercs. Better noise cancelling in a high nose environment, haven't tried the DC but probably wouldn't use them there. For $400 less the DC are worth a look if you're OK with the on ear fit vs the over ear of the Bose. I think DC came out with an over the ear model too, haven't tried those.

If fatty co-pilot stuffs cheese burgers into his pie-hole and clogs up the arteries, that his choice.

If leather skinned co-pilot doesn't lather up and gets skin cancer, that's his fault.

The difference about the headsets, and I think the main reason people are digging their feet in, is when you the captain make the FO take his ear piece off, you the Captain are now the root cause of said FO being exposed to unsafe noise levels against their will, thus contributing to the hearing loss, tinnitus, etc.

I think most folks here don't take kindly to actual physical damage being inflicted on them that could have been prevented, or at least minimized through use of a headset, ANR or otherwise.
