United Agent Cancels Man's Trip For Taping Ar
Seems like everyone is trying to jump on the video recording airline employee bandwagon. I think we need to get used to this being the new normal. Certain passengers are going to be recording all our moves.

Never mind the fact the agent was on the phone with a customer and he was dealing with another agent, or that in Louisiana there is a law against wire tapping without consent, recording a phone call is wiretapping if there is audio, or that the man was intoxicated. nope, its all the agents fault... gmafb.. This crap needs to stop.

The issue of an agent canceling a flight BECAUSE the guy was a douche needs to be reviewed. We all know the media doesn't report facts, and the answer could as simple as he was drunk, therefore not getting on another jet that day. Did the agent act on their own vs. having corporate guidance?
Be careful out there, seems like there's a growing crowd looking for a payday via Twitter justice.
Calm, Firm, Professional.....and be right. Kinda sucks but in the back of your mind be thinking about how this will look on YouTube

OK so the guy was guilty of felonious douchbaggery, agreed.

We also need to be self aware here. Our opinions are only slightly more informed than the media's. We know more about a gate agents job than John Q. Public. But that doesn't mean we know the gate agent's job. Nor do we know any more about the actual event than reported in the media we denigrate.
Just saying more thought and less furor may be appropriate. If only in real life, because of course flaming all parties involved is more fun on an anonymous message board.

I would not be inclined to continue a conversation that was being recorded...no telling how it will be edited.

the belligerent passenger did tell her he was recording and LA only requires one consenting person for video/audio... she could have just as easily called the cops (because he was drunk/irate) and told him "Sir, I'm not going to talk with you anymore" until the officer showed up.
