Pass riding PS authority scam

My wife is travelling later this week on a vacation pass.
Usually we are pretty close or top of the non rev list, but now there are 4 people listed on one name traveling on a PS0B with a boarding date of...
December 2017

How does that happen?

Is the "B" "Business" or "Bereavement"?

BMEP100 05-22-2017 04:21 PM

Deadheading is usually PS0B, as I recall.
Never 4 people on one name, with a boarding date 6 months in the future.

If the company booked you on a positive space ticket, you would have a board date of 12/31/2017 initially.... Positive space tickets are always booked with the last date of the current year as the board date, that way all is equal, the only difference being the actual PS code, until an actual employee name is uploaded. What is the last name and first initial of the "Traveler"? It used to be regionals would book the PS0X tickets under a name like "Crew, Express", and would be updated with the real names and seniority 24 hours prior.

I found it. PS0B is "sCO Maintenance to protect a trip; sCO Flight Attendant observation; Flt Ops mandatory travel"

DH is PS0C and PS0F for Captains and First Officers respectively.

UAX on DH are PS0X but names don't show up in employeeRes on the passrider list. Much like UAL employees as soon as crew scheduling builds a segment with a DH, the automatic engine creates the PNR and books a seat under a placeholder name. The actual crew names show up maybe 24-36 hours before the flight. There may be a flight showing a number of PS riders but when you view the list, any names that don't show up are probably UAX crew. PS0X is still must ride but goes on the upgrade list below all other PS (even below PS5, etc...) and PS0X also = Group 3 for boarding.

Yeah, it's not exactly an intuitive set of codes...

Also you don't need to worry about the PS. They are already included count of seats. So if there is 1 seat open and the only person ahead of you is a PS, you will get that seat. They also don't show up on the stby list once people check in.

Larry,
Where did you find this info? I've been wondering what all the letters and numbers are. Thanks
