UAL buying 30 used airbii
Heard it from a good source in WHQ, that Oscar actually telling folks, we are about to ink deal for 30 used airbuses. Supposed to be announced soon (whatever that is). The source was told this direct from Oscar today. I'm usually right 99% of the time.

Current airbus folks who read the fleet newsletter saw several months a go that we were pursuing more china southern 319s and 320s, built from 98 to 05. One of the intended uses for these relatively low time airframes was to replace our oldest 320s. IIRC, the plan was to stabilize the fleet at 165 airframes thru 2025.

So I will add my opinion (my uneducated guess)
We are scheduled to start retiring our oldest Airframes in 2021. My guess is that we have a void with the 65 737-7 cx order. If UAL gets 30 used buses (short term growth until the max's 10 show up to free up 737-700 to be used for the original order) plus the fleet optimization plus the 4 737-8 then we almost have the block hours covered for the 737-7 order. This also gives mangment time to try to hammer out a new contract with scope enhancements that they desire. If they don't get them expect the 190/CS order.
It's a big game to see what they can get from this group.
