I assume this was tongue in cheek?

Yes. Make sure your app is perfect; often times people think it is when really it has tons of errors. A lot of invites will be sent out and there is no shortage of qualified applicants. Recommend printing it and proofreading it that way too. Sometimes staring at a screen just makes it difficult to catch everything.

Yes, that is "tongue in cheek".

However, I'd like to add that Todd said 1200 new hires in 2018 months ago, and the company has been saying time and again they were hunting for used aircraft. Your analysis was correct, but nothing new. MoP has been beating the drum of expected purchases and increased hiring once the 747 closing and the IAH 787 silliness settled down.

No management team can predict when the economy or their industry is going to suffer a down turn. Boom and bust cycles are a part of life probably going as far back as the nomadic days of humanity when food was plentiful one year and scarce the next. I think hiring until you don't is better than losing market share, although I do realize some folks may not fully appreciated this and end up buying that captain house a year or two too early.

There’s a MEC meeting going on right now, I’d imagine they would have been briefed by the company.

The MEC just had their regular meeting Oct 10-11 and was briefed on the plan.

As your attorney I advise you to also buy a motorcycle...
