I feel they are that backed up , why are they having new hires come back in 6 months versus the usual 9. Most classes from April of this year forward all come back in 6 . Just did mine last month . And no none of us had any issues in training all the classes around me got this change .

Maybe this would alleviate TK ...

The first training cycle after your initial training is always shortened. It’s that way for everyone. I believe it has something to do with the cycle of your initial training beginning when you start your equipment training, not when you take your checkride. Mine was at month 7 if I remember correctly.

Just finished my CQDL course. Surprised no one else posted this. The lesson also said 2000 retirements and 3000 new hires in the next 5 years . . .

Not wanting to be mean in any way or shape or fashion, but I am genuinely curious. When did u get hired?

Also, I disagree 100%. The new management outlined a plan a little over 1 year ago and has stuck to that plan assiduously. They told the world to expect 1-2% fleet growth and slightly higher ASM growth. They also said the company had efficiencies to be gained. Nothing that has happened in the last year shows a lack of planning. Do not mistake lack of communication or "holding ones cards close to ones vest" as a lack of planning.

The previous administration threw out some crazy pilot hiring forecasts, and some folks are remembering that, but this administration doesn't deserve to be painted with the same broad brush.

If hiring is below 600 in 2018 and we have not experienced a "Black Swan" event such as an attack from the Dear Leader, then I will donate $100 to the charity of your choice if you remember and remind of this post in January 2019.
