What’s the process/timeline of bidding out of SFO?

You can bid whatever you can hold whenever there is vacancy bid.

It usually takes a day or two of indoc for the new hires to get setup in the computer system and vacancy bids are only released on an "as required" basis. After that, it's all by seniority.

Within the past year we have had vacancy bids close (coincidently) on the first day or two of indoc and the new-hire department has been able to get the new hires included.

But just for perspective, a new hire is literally at the bottom of a ~13000 pilot list and any new-hire assignments are what he other 13,000 have passed. Ditto for any other openings in any other bases/seats.

All depends on vacancy bids. Could be during indoc. or could be 6 months. Either way, it's highly doubtful you'll be there long. You can always attempt a base trade too. For reference, it took me 15 months to get to ORD. Guys hired 2 years before me managed to get it out of initial. YMMV

Pretty much all 320/756 SFO split evenly. A few 737/GUM spots and I believe between those two classes 3 320/LAX were available but not required. 756 is still the junior airplane.

What’s timeline for 756 transfer to Ewr or Ord?

756 you could probably get on your first bid on property if not in class. ORD is going to be aloooooooong time on the 756.

Anyone recall what the rough drops were for the July 15 and 29th classes? Wondering if there were any 737s or if the pipeline had shut off already.

Only the 7/29 had 737...GUM. We were told no 737 till the Max is back.
