United Hiring Brief (2/9/18)
Folks,
For those interested in getting hired at United, I thought I'd pass on some info from the hiring brief I attended yesterday at the NGPA Job Fair.
Susan Whit (sp?) lead the presentation.
She wouldn't give specifics on numbers for 2018. She did say that they have classes filled until May. Some in the pool now will be expecting Fall class dates. With summer flying ramping up, interviews will pretty much slow (they are already slowing now), if not stop during the summer. She said expect interviews to ramp up again "big-time" late summer/early fall. They will also hold an in-house job fair in Denver, sometime in September. This will be open to both civilian and military. There will also be a military only job fair sometime around November (Veterans Day).
You won't be getting any more "points" to your application by attending, WIA, OBAP, or NGPA as there are no more one-on-one interviews,
They were really selling the 4-6% growth with lots of new airframes coming online over the next few years. They acknowledged that Wall Street doesn't believe in this, but they are essentially giving them the middle finger on that notion and going forward as planned.
Per Susan, United will retire 2800 pilots over the next 5 years, 5500 in the next 10 years, 8900 in the next 15 years, and nearly the entire seniority list over the next 20 years.
30% of their new-hires came from the CPP program in 2017, and they expect 35% in 2018. I stated in an earlier thread, they consider the CFIs that come out of the Lufthansa Flight Training Center in Phoenix to be part of the CPP. They have a few CFIs starting class next month that are going straight from a Bonanza to a 73/Bus. Pretty unbelievable....
Those were pretty much the highlights.

And yet United said "no" last month to one of the most highly respected U-2 pilots in the program... both for his flying abilities, as well as for his generosity and demeanor, and overall "a good human being".

XJT is 25%, isn’t Commutair 10%?
And AWAC’s has yet to be disclosed but it’s reasonable to assume they get more than Commutair but less than XJT. THEN throw in the ATCA.
Sure, why not?
I mean, we have/had to pay just to apply
