Default United's Upgrade time is 6 years

United's upgrade hit just under 6 years today. Congrats to the first post merger hires holding CA on the 737 in SFO.

You, me, and webee have been the "glass half full" guys for a while now. The way I see it, this is only the beginning. I'll go on record saying that next fall you'll see under 5 years for NB captain.

Trouble is I'm old enough to know that at some point the music will stop, but I'm sure as heck gonna enjoy the moment.

Also, as has been mentioned WBFO is going senior to NBCAP. That to me is very gratifying. I will add that as a senior NBCAP, I much prefer my current job versus being a WBFO, but if I had to choose between junior NBCAP or moderately senior WBFO, I would most definitely choose WBFO - unless, of course, I was 52 years old and tired of flying with captains that spent their entire career as a captain.

That junior captain award is right at 80% systemwide seniority. Crazy.

I'll go with under 5 by spring 2019.

There's a reason for that.

True, but the elevator's picked up speed, which is likely what many are betting on.

20 grand a month to sit around as a junior NBCA doesn't sound that bad to me.

I think that’s a good bet. Hiring started in NOV 12’ and through JAN 14’ we only hired 350 ish. I bet we’ll see a 14’ hire by summer 19’ and a 15’ hire by summer 20’
