A Feb 2000 UA hire is around 9030-9050 on the current seniority list.

That would put you with about 60 other FOs junior to you in SFO in the 777 FO seat. And right at the bottom of the SFO 737 CA list.

That is not to say that you didn't get drilled by the double furlough and ISL, but if you really wanted 777 FO in SFO, you should have gotten the bid some time ago.

Do you guys even know where you work? Show me a vacancy final with someone over a 9000# awarded a wide body FO slot in the last year. What is so confusing? The Widebody right seat has been going senior to the narrow body left seat, which I still can't hold anywhere. What is the stupid arguing about? My original reply simply stated that had I chosen AS when offered, I would've been in the left seat years ago driving to work. Just a simple statement that I chose wrong. Just because there are junior people to you on a certain aircraft doesn't mean you can hold it. You hold it when it's awarded! Why would I have a bid in to commute to Reserve? I chose to wait and by doing so have been unable to hold it over the past year. Simple!

How long have you been back? Mid ‘16 guys with 3 years on property were getting 747,787,777 in sfo. Seems in the last year guys junior to you were also being awarded nb Capt in SFO/EWR. SFO 787 FO is fat so it may be a while to hold that. SFO 777 FO is short but system wide we are fat 777 FO’s so who knows when 777 bids will get as junior as 9000 again. Probably be flying it by next summer.

Sorry, I misunderstood you, but your original comment sure made it sound like you were only able to be a 737 FO here and would be a 737 Captain at Alaska.

Actually you could be a 777FO or 787 FO (depending on when in 2000 you were hired) in SFO , if you had your bid in on the bid that closed in Jan 2017.

Now, no argument that bids over the last year (and more for us ORD folks) have been out of whack due to base closings/openings/closings/openings. This situation definitely shows why the old saying is so important:

Bid what you want.
Want what you bid.
Careful what you bid for (or in this case - don't bid for)
cause you just might get it (or in this case - might not have a chance again for 18 months)

Man, you don’t give up. Actually, no I couldn’t have held it. The jr award was 9100ish. Also, that was over a year ago & I said “within the last year”. Granted, I could’ve bid the 787 but would’ve been on Reserve at that time and that really isn’t holding it, is it? Let it go please....bye

I “hold the 787” and I’m on reserve and I can’t imagine a better job. Thanks for reminding me how good I have it.

It’s fun to read your twisted versions of reality, keep scaring people senior to me from bidding the 737 with your stories, it helps my seniority. BTW our approach speeds are super scary and we generally need 11-12,000 feet of runway to land LOL.
