IAD Seniority

Is IAD considered one of the more senior domiciles? Any WAGs on how long it might take a guy to hold a line?

Apologies if there is a thread already addressing this question...I struck out in my search.

Thanks!

Took me about 3-5 months back in 2016. My seniority got as high as 53% on the 737, but has been steadily dropping ever since. I think IAD is becoming a desiresble domicile due to the variety of airframes to choose from.

737 2 years
757/767 4-6 years
787 6-8 years
777 6-8 years

These numbers are a safe bet to assure you above the G line to hold a line each month.

What are your thoughts on the QOL and movement on the 73 and AB at IAD as a new hire? If given a choice which would you choose living in domicile at IAD? Thanks!

Airbus has slowly been shrinking while 737 has taken over. There was a small Captain bid on 320 recently...but 90% of the growth is on guppy. There are 88 FOs on the 320 vs. 172 FOs on the guppy.

Hmmmm......Not sure this is totally accurate. I’ve been at UAL 19 years and would be deep in reserve on the 787.

I think they are saying going forward...I think that would be an accurate number. I was able to hold the 777 after 1.5 years on property. Then Dubai went away. But I think with the movement that is coming and retirements, it could be 6-8 years from NOW to hold a line on the 777/787. 19 years from now will see 85% of the list gone, gotta think you can hold a line on the 777 or 787 before that happens.

Possible... 👍🏼

And yet junior guys get forced into lines on 777. Some day i will be senior enough to get a reserve line!
