Default SA with a pet.

Can’t find anything on flying together. Does anyone know what the policy is for flying SA with a pet in the cabin? Special non-revenue listing, additional charges, etc.?

I’ll be flying domestic. From what I read the recent suspension on carrying pets only applies to pets in the cargo hold.
Thanks in advance.

Get on the United website. You'll be required to have a health cert from a vet for the animal, it has to meet minimum age requirements and you still have to pay the pet in cabin fee of $125.

That's it in a nut shell. But United.com is the final word on approved pet carriers ETC.

I flew with a puppy back in December. Called the ETC and was told it was free for SAs. Showed up at the airport and told the agent we had a pet, she couldn’t have cared less. Not sure if that’s SOP but it was easy and free. This was also at a smallish outstation...

If something happens to your hamster, you are welcome to borrow my emotional support lion or my seeing eye porcupine.

Even if something does "happen" to the hamster, despite whatever any airline employee tells you, DO NOT FLUSH IT DOWN A TOILET.

You may very likely clog your toilet.
