Now you're going too dang far. I'm on the realist page and will remain there. June is better than November and 40 is better than thirty-nine or zero. It's good news but it doesn't make up for missing the hiring targets by 50% for the last 5 years. Happy about the 40 but not impressed.

Those of us who would like to move up in seniority do.

Growth and retirements is how you move up.

and I was not commenting on the hiring...I Was commenting on the comparison to SWA and DAL.

I’m not informed on the other airlines current monthly hiring numbers.

Do you have those for DAL SWA and AA.

I’m curious.

Thanks
Lee

They all have class drop threads here on APC. Delta hires 100+ per month. This has been going on for a long while. They hired 39 just a few days ago. I'd have to go through the SWA and AA threads.

I guess your sources were a little off huh 89?

Might need a Vacancy bid. I'm not sure we have enough open slots.

Last vacancy was posted in February, so they can't use any of those in June (too old). So, they will have to post a vacancy bid to allow movement for those on the property and create "unfilled" vacancies for the Furlough returns and New Hires.

8-C-8 Bulletined but unfilled First Officer vacancies and secondary vacancies may be used by
the Company for the assignment of new hire pilots. This Section 8-C-8 shall not be applicable
while any furloughed Pilot has not been offered recall.

8-F-3-d In the event a vacancy is not filled within three (3) months of the date the award
bulletin was issued, the vacancy shall be cancelled.

Wouldn't that be sum'thin :D

As for my happy page, couldn't be any less happy. Doesn't mean I have to sit around pumping sunshine up anyone's a$$ though does it? ;)

I'm guessing that you don't? Shame when we keep talking up major expansion and all that our crack management team can muster up is to hire way less bodies than attrition and retirements cover.

Growth and retirements don't mean d**k without hiring to fill the spots.

True, but the vacancy bid to seed new hire slots could be just right seat slots in the junior bases. Doesn’t mean it would have other vacancies.

I care how WE do, I don’t care about Delta or Southwest.
Our utilization is increasing, we are becoming more efficient. We don’t need bodies just to have them.
