I don’t know if anything has changed since BK retired, but under the old regime calls started going out on the Wed afternoon of the week following your interview. If you interviewed on a Monday, you had at least a 9 day wait.

If you didn’t get a call Wednesday afternoon it wasn’t the end of the world because a lot of calls went out on Thursday. If you didn’t get a call by Friday, that was super no bueno.

I interviewed on a Tuesday this month and got the call 15 days later. Board is still on Wednesday. Told to expect fall or later class.

Interviewed on a Tuesday, heard the following Thursday. That was back in December.

wrxpilot 04-23-2018 06:30 PM

In March, it took about a week for me.

Offered 6 March, had to turn it down due to military time commitments (it was a month before my availability). Hoping for a June class. Otherwise I'll still be swimming in the pool until who knows when.

Best Course of Action

Background - 2,100TT Part121/135, No Military. Question - Would I be better served staying 135 and building time slower or go to a 121 and accelerate my times to make me a competitive candidate with United?

121 to get your times up quicker. You can even be a direct entry captain at a few regionals but your QOL would be in the toilet.

Interview on Tuesday, got the call the following Wed. Probably going to be a little while before class though (end of the year), but we'll see.

They giving out phone calls or emails for these CJOs?

Assuming by people saying “got the call” it’s a phone call but people can use that term interchangeably with email now a’days...

OCF Flier 05-09-2018 07:49 AM

I got a phone call from the team that works in the interview trailer. I’ve heard the TBNT is an email.

I got a phone call. I think most everyone else I've spoken with got actual calls as well.

Yes, actual phone call from an actual person in HR. Official email notification followed a few days later.

Correct. I got an actual phone call from an actual HR rep. It was followed up by an official email a few days later.

Tips for application to be noticed

To the guys that have been called for interview. What have you folks done to standout and to be noticed from the application pool?

I met with a UAL base chief pilot who later wrote me a LOR to the hiring department. My invite also came 5 Months after being hired at a LCC, with a new type added, and 2 Months after adding a new volunteer position and redoing my app. Not sure if a single one of these events triggered it, or a combination.
