Impressive.

That’s larger than needed to “fund” a single June new hire class and will cause lots of summer training. I’ll take this as a good sign that the training center is planned to be running at capacity this fall otherwise they could have waited a few months for many of these categories.

I thought they were going to run the LAX 787 displacement followed by vacancy bids. This is a nice change. Hope many more are to follow. There are 161 max’s On the way. I don’t know how many are replacement aircraft, but hopefully most are growth.

Positive trend.

I thought I had read previously that of them 100 were growth aircraft.

On the LAX777 displacement, I was also surprised that it's after the vacancy bid. Especially since almost all of the LAX777 pilots are going to try to go to the LAX787. And there were 15 LAX 787 CAs and 35 LAX 787 FOs in this vacancy bid.

They may have done this to avoid excessive overstaffing on SFO 787, should any displaced LAX 777 pilots choose that instead of LAX787 or SFO777. SFO 787 CA and FO are being offered June COLA.
