Default Bidding question

I’ve been on furlough and planning to return in the next available class after this June one that’s coming up.
I’d be relatively senior in some based on the bus and guppy, like 25-30% in some cases, and am wondering about being able to bid max days off/min pay and realistically how many days off per month could be had on average. I know the schedule varies according to season, but just a ballpark would be nice.
For family medical reasons I’m needing as much time at home as possible.
Thanks!

17-18 days off with 70-75 hours credit doesn’t seem unreasonable. Bid for 1 or 2 day trips so it’s easier to drop and you could do better.

Since you're senior to me, on the Airbus, 11 says off, max

I kid, i kid. If you go for days off, you can average 17-18 days off at around 68 hours credit. Summer varies but that seems to be pretty common. That's EWR bus

You could use fmla (with Dr concurrence), unpaid or vacation drops, and there is CA sick if based in sfo or lax.

Many on the 737 drop to to the minimum of 50 credit giving them around 20/21 days off , esp if money isn't the number one priority.

Airbus has way less efficient trips imo.

Take a Widebody bid and bid reserve you can go months without leaving your house.

Don’t forget that there’s a HUGE difference in narrowbody trip productivity between trips that are commutable and those that are not so your entire strategy may differ if you live in base or commute.

This would be my advice, but only if you live in base. Reserve at home is a wonderful thing. Do not consider it as a commuter. But, a widebody CP to commute to a line, is pretty good too. Lots of time off, depends on how far up the list you will be.

Id be doing a fairly short 1 leg commute, so reserve is off the table for me. My seniority in ORD or DEN, which are the 2 closest bases would be pretty good on the 73 but pretty junior on WB unfortunately.
