Default J/S on regional partners

Haven't jumpseated on a regional partner in over a decade. Can't do it in employee res.

What is the procedure for jumpseat listing with Mesa and Republic on a United flight number?

List at the gate up to one-hour prior to scheduled departure. The computer does not enforce the one-hour window and many agents don't, either.

Priority is;

1. Own-metal UX pilots by seniority (their cabin listing will be SA0X so that can give you a clue that here may be an own-metal pilot who may bump you but they can't pre-list for the jumpseat, either)

2. UAL and non-own-metal UX pilots by check-in time. Listed as SK8A. (Non-own-metal express employees' cabin listings will be SA2X)

3. All other pilot jumpseaters.

There doesn't appear to be any rules for what happens when more than one pilot is at the gate more than an hour before departure or if the check-in time rolls to a later flight if you're bumped from the first one.

The own-metal UX employee's cabin listing (SA0X) is equal to our vacation pass listings (SA0V) and will be prioritized by longevity date.

It sounds funny when these Express Carriers say “our metal”..... UAL bought the airplane and owns all the “seats”. It sucks when a 2018 new Hire goes ahead of a 20 year UAL employee.

Also, if you are listing on one of those you can still list and check the status on employeeres it just shows as a United flight. That way if it’s oversold and there are 10 standbys in front of you it may save a trip to the airport.

United doesn’t own all of its Express carriers’ airplanes. Also, it could be a 20 year Express pilot and a new hire UAL pilot going for the Express jumpseat.

Ok you got me....UAL doesn’t own all of the express airplanes but they do own a lot of them. One thing that I’m sure of is, all of the seats in back are owned by United. Express employees shouldn’t be given priority in back. DOH period.

Easy captain superiority. Your seniority idea isn’t a good one. I had 10 years at a regional before coming to UAL, so now I’d be bumped by a bunch of 2 year guys from Mesa? No. It’s perfectly fine and in accordance with long standing practice for a pilot for his or her own airline to have priority on their company aircraft, regardless of the code share.

Thanks all.
So this "listing" as SK8, is not in UA employees res, since we can't do that. Where would I see those listings?

On Employee Res, or the United App's standby list, after being listed and checked in for the jumpseat by the gate agent.
