Any ideas as to why Mr Levy is leaving so soon?

Rumor: He came to UAL looking to move up to the big job then Scott Kirby was hired. Now he's off to try elsewhere.

My rose-colored theory: he just couldn't wash off the Allegiant stink.

Good riddance, IMHO.

It’s a lingering stink

Another strange one was Julia Haywood leaving for her old job after only six months here. She was one of the 3 "stars" Munoz brought on board along with Kirby and Levy, and the supposed brain behind economy basic. Two are now gone.

Just six months? Enough time to buy an expensive home in a nice Chicago neighborhood, though...

United executive spends $2.8 million in Lincoln Park area - Chicago Tribune

Haywood was part of the PAR Capital Gordo Buffoonary attempted takeover. Nothing more than a hall monitor that went home early from school. As for the joke from Allegiant, he didn't leave soon enough. Hopefully Kirby sees the light and stops trying to run a Global Airline like it's America West. I'm all for the growth strategy, just hate it when Kirby tries to nickel and dime both employees (on time bonus flop) and passengers (scaling back Polaris amenities and domestic first class).

Ok here’s how this will go, Kirby will hire from one of two positions:

1. He will hire his buds, those who will conform to his will.
2. He will hire whoever is recommended by a member of the board who has power over him.

This isn’t HR looking for the best and brightest, it’s a club of influence and money.

Funny that you mention the Par Capital (and Altimeter Capital; the leadership of both are buds/cronies) and gordo buffoonery. I was thinking about this exact thing ... the attempt to make gordo Chairman of the Board by those crooks ... as I was watching gordo ramble on about a pilot 'shortage'. Well gordo, you and your fellow airline heads created this pilot 'shortage' by cutting wages and furloughs - now it's time that they pay for pilots. Raise wages and there won't be a 'shortage'.

Our VP of Tech ops came from Allegiant also about a year and a half ago. Kris Bauer.

I had to laugh at the clip as Gordo professed that it was a co-pilot shortage, not a pilot shortage 'cause the gubament changed the requirements from 250 to 1500 hours. Just so we're clear, there is no pilot shortage, it's a co-pilot shortage.
