Umm.. huh? I call myself that, and u extrapolate an issue? Puh lease. If your delicate sensibilities can’t discern the difference between a term of endearment, and a true issue with our own pilots not wearing an alpa pin, then I can’t help you.

Probably still wears his legacy wings too....

Five years or so into this merger and I have yet to see a single guy wearing legacy wings. However, I have seen a ton of guys with slick ties. Which is worse? I know which one chaps me more.

Swing and a miss. Come on guys, quit grasping at straws. Slick ties are a cultural problem that needs to be addressed. Deflections don’t change that.

I saw a 777 FO awhile back wearing his legacy wings, legacy epilletes, and a backpack. They’re out there. I really hope we can all focus on being professional and doing our jobs with integrity. No better way to do this than standing unified. We’ve come a long way and there is no reason for a slick tie at our airline in today’s environment.

Exactly. It wasn’t my intent to start a ****ing match re: the pin. I thought it was universally accepted that we wear them. Period. The slights against my call sign and accusations about legacy wings were unnecessary. I’m Iah based and was simply commenting on what we all already know.

I’m the same. Not seen a single person in “legacy” gear, and tbh only had 1 FO out of uniform with his tie. I gave him one out of my bag and he wore it for the rest of the trip. He may have tossed later but I think after 4 days he had a better understanding of what it meant to have his/her fellow pilot’s back meant.

Guppydriver, time for you to jump off your "high horse" now! Yes, you stated, " We still have a certain group of f/o’s who are still butt hurt from their “perceived” injustice on the seniority list after the merger and refuse to wear their Alpa pins." You seem to forget the "butt hurt" group in all your subsequent posts! I wouldn't have a problem with you calling out ALL pilots that don't wear their pins. Not just the part where you call out a WHOLE base because, of your apparent bias towards that group. I'm not sensitive, since I'm not part of that "butt hurt" group. Just getting a little tired of YOUR group always trying to make another group look bad. Keep up the good work on your UNITY drive though!!!;)

Swing and a miss again. The poster was discussing moving to Iah. This is an issue in Iah. Anyone who’s spent any time there knows exactly what I’m referring to. Try and focus. This isn’t about calling a guppy a guppy, legacy wings, or whatever other distraction with which you want to try to create a false equivalency. We still have a culture problem in Iah, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. No high horse dismounting required.

Guppy you do not speak for me. I am IAH based and fly with crews from both legacies and post merger hires all the time. I do not see a culture problem in IAH. I fly with double furloughees and bottom 1/3rd guys all the time and get along just fine, no butt hurt noted. The best thing about showing up to work is flying with great pilots who I have no problem spending a 4 day with.

Stop using we. You only speak for yourself. You do not own the culture perception of a base consisting of thousands of individual pilots. If you perceive a culture problem I suggest you look in a mirror and start reconciliation with that guy.
