vacation pass question
 

I noticed while booking a family vacation to Grand Cayman I had to "accept charges". I know that London has a departure tax. Is it likely that GCM has an arrival tax?

Is there a place to find out what the fees are for or why they are applied while using a vacation pass?

No description of the fees on employee res that I could find. This is for economy class.

Don't know about Grand Cayman, but there's no point in listing in economy using a vacation pass.

If you have young kids you can't list for 1st, so yes there is a point for using a vacation pass and listing in Y so you aren't bumped by the new hire FA using a pass as well.

My youngest kid is 12. Do they let 12 year olds ride in first?

Even if first if full, I guess we won't get bumped even if we list in first correct? assuming plenty of seats in the back?

Any other benefits to listing in first class even thought it may likely be sold out?

Yes, 12-year olds CAN ride in first internationally provided they are accompanied by an adult (18+) pass rider. The cutoff is age 8.

After 15 they can do it solo internationally.

There is no age restriction on domestic flights provided they are with an adult.

Sure. If you don’t get F you automatically get E. No harm in at least trying. So always list in F unless you have a very specific reason not to (example: kids). Some folks only list in E to avoid charges—-this is not an issue for vacation passes.

The opposite is NOT true and I have personally witnessed an employee make the mistake of listing in E. They were senior to me so I was happy for us to take the seats in F while their group was left at the gate.
