My dad worked on the Shuttle program, and I graduated Clear Lake HS too. My senior year English teacher was one of the two best teachers I had, and was married to an astronaut. Their son, Rich, was a junior at Clear Lake. When I was 18 and applying for my AFROTC and NROTC scholarships, he showed me around his house for 15 minutes, and talked to me about flying in the Air Force. It made a huge impression.

His name was Dick Scobee.

Rich is now a 2-star in the AF Reserve, and a great American.
