I live in IAH for many reasons. One is cost of living. I realize that some (new hires) don’t have a choice on their base assignment. That said don’t ask me to subsidize your cost of living in base X by taking lower compensation because I choose to live in Houston.
The contract has a total cost value. Where the give and take occurs should always be neutral to all pilots. The cost of living adjustment for GUAM is appropriate IMHO because of the remote location and other costs associated with living there. Any CONUS base, sorry.
There’s a reason why I’m only 90% in my BES in IAH but 50% in SFO.......
