FYI: the Vacancy Final Summary has not yet been posted on the crew resources site but bid results for individual pilots appear to have been updated on the Vacancy bidding screen in CCS.

This screen doesn't show me anything now. What would it say if I was awarded something?

Starting and Staffed positions on the vacancy bidding screen. If it changed with a bid this is typically where it shows first.

For the last few vacancies SFO 737/320 Captain has consistently gone 1200-1400 slots junior to either 777 or 787 FO in SFO.

It’ll be interesting to see how junior that goes once the MAXs start showing up in force.

Why do you think the Max additions will effect the bidding? I lean to think it’s insignificant. Just more airframes?

Correct. Watching the bidding patterns over the past few years it sure seems like a lot of widebody pilots only want the widebody lifestyle.

Last I saw we still have 135 MAXs coming and United has said if the economy keeps humming, they’ll be growth, if not, they’ll be replacement. There are far fewer new widebody slots (one -300ER and now 14 787s remain inbound) coming available in the near future.

That's been true since the day I was hired.

There are two airlines at UA, one narrow and another wide. A semi-senior F/O on the wide side can make what a narrow body Captain makes and have less TAFB and other "perceived" benefits. Having that choice is one of the best benefits that United pilots have over our competitors. "One man's trash" and all that. A gander at a map of our route structure (less codeshare cities of course) can make a pilot giddy.

Hey, we just bought more 787's! ;)
