Scope is not up for sale.
Q2 numbers showed a 7% rise in CASM YOY. Putting 70 seats into an E-175 AND capping the number of airplanes to 102 (which they’re at) only worsens the CASM problem.
Bring those airplanes to mainline and they can stuff them to designed capacity and have as many as Kirby wants.
Still think we have no leverage?

"That’s also fair, but remember that the work rules and salary at your job and as much under your influence as scope is for the pilots at United. You also have a Union and should be working towards getting your pay and benefits up."
It is the leverage of regional carriers union's I'm referring to, because CALFO doesn't seem to grasp the whole regional airline situation.
Anyways, I've wasted enough time on this thread. Good luck with getting your planes back, and please prove us naysayers wrong.

My last reply was a question from comment in response to CALFO's:

Please use your leverage. Tsa: how many new hires are showing up for class? How many experienced pilots are jumping ship for other regionals. You may not realize it, but you have value to your employer. Use it.

Either needs to be a nonstarter.

20 years ago, most regionals were getting away with charging new hires $15k to pay for their training. Today, almost every regional is offering signing bonuses to qualified new hires. Some are offering retention bonuses. The less desirable regionals can’t even fill classes. It’s called supply and demand.

If scope relax is even mentioned or proposed from Our LEC/MEC’s in this next contract. They immediately need to be recalled and let go.
I have only been here for about 1.5 years , not one single person I have flown with remotely entertains the idea of scope relaxation . It’s a non starter period.
Only a small group of guys compared to our whole list but I feel it’s a voice average for the group . Minus the senior senior guys who only have a few years left. I’m too junior to have crossed paths with them yet.

So if Barton ends up being right, then what?
