Basically the order is a stalling tactic, where’s the delivery dates, the bids and the pay scales?

Maybe they are a topic in our contract negotiations? Can you say, big RJs, okay big GJ (Global Jets).

IIRC the switch to the smaller 900 version made these direct replacements for 777-200s in a few years as they start to age out. Nice plane but not exactly exciting news.

So do you recognize and read sarcasm or is everything so serious that you have to “grumble” a lot?

The truth is this; until the first bid is posted the pay rates (and the contract in general) mean nothing, everything is negotiable.
