Logbook advice for new hires
 

I tried searching this out, but couldn't find anything... I read somewhere that some carriers can link to an app to keep track of your time. Does United have this or is it Is good 'ol paper (or digital equivalent).

After not keeping a logbook of my own for 20 years, I'm hoping for an easy button!

United doesn’t specifically have a logbook, but download the EzCCS app (its like $10/year). It’s an incredibly useful app for a lot of things, but it does have a logbook function. I don’t actually use it much but it pulls from your schedule, and then you just click and “update” or “refresh” or some button like that and it will update to actual times after flights are completed... the only thing I don’t know is how long everything stays there, or if you need to eventually transfer it out to another logbook.

New hire you say? Why do you need a log book? Think positive!:D Anyway all your hrs are in CCS. My hours from 4 years ago still there but don’t know how long they stay there

That's funny. Probably just seems like something you should be doing in my mind.

I believe there is a log book in CCS under training and qualifications tab. It tracks all hours by seat and airframe.

Download the times from CCS once a year. Just set a reminder and don’t worry about it.

Or pay the extra few bucks a year in the crew companion “log book” section For the ability of an excel file download ... with all flight data except crew member names.

I use this, add the CA name and reformat in excel. Simple and worth the bucks for excel comparability. (.csv file)

There used to be a way to get the pilot service center to send you an excel spreadsheet that had all of your flights / hours. I'm guessing they can still do that.

Nope, you’ve gotta download it yourself. More like copy and paste as there isn’t a download link. I’m not sure how far back it goes, but I copy mine once a year and then append my excel file.

It captures all the basic info + airframe and if you landed. Don’t need much more.....and it’s free
