Blown tires BOS-DEN?

United Airlines flight evacuated after blown tires in Denver
DENVER — Passengers and crew on a United Airlines flight were bused to a concourse at Denver International Airport because of two blown tires.
Airport spokeswoman Emily Williams says Flight 448 from Boston landed safely before the problem was discovered Monday evening. United released a statement saying the tires on the Boeing 737 flattened after landing, and the airline apologized to its customers for the inconvenience.
The plane stopped on the taxiway, and the 165 people on board were loaded onto buses.
No injuries were reported

What would have caused this? Such an odd thing to happen.

It’s not a odd thing at all. Tires blow all the time. Sometimes a piece of debris gets into the tire. Some times there is a failure of the tire itself or a manufacturing flaw. The brake and anti skid systems fail now and then. At high hot airports the increased TAS can cause hot brakes and fuse plug failures. Often when one tire blows the other goes with it.

Yeah it happens even more often when your VREF is 155 knots instead of 20 +knots slower like a normal airplane.

155? That's kinda slow.

Had two a flat tire on a 737 commuting home from Denver few weeks ago.

Had to find a new airplane cause they had no tires there for a 737 !!! Said Denver charges high taxes on keepingspare parts on shelves ...

How many 737 land in Denver a day . And they didn’t have 2 to replace ..

All cause the taxes ,, didn’t the Cheach and Chong laws get them enough taxes

IIRC, when Frontier was acquired by Wexford or Bedford or whatever the hell RAH labels themselves during the bankruptcy, that was the reason for him moving A LOT of the MX to MKE.

I thought I also heard it’s the reason that SW has minimal (if any) parts store at DEN.

They need to put a public school on the grounds of DIA, that’ll help get that additional tax revenue needed :D
