Paris, TX sucks anyway.

If that is UAL's intent they need to move quickly. Pilots are leaving XJT in droves with few replacements coming in the door. Kalitta alone hired about 50 last month and is interviewing over 80 next week. They want all 80. That's the number going to one carrier.

Not this guy. I’d be MORE than thrilled to be a new-hire. Plenty more of us feel the same.

Yeah, we tried that at Comair back in the day. Didn't work out so well. Doubt it will be tried again.

My exact thought. Any one who fights for this will get a blanket party and some wall to wall counseling.

Considering XJT is now owned by Skywest, United would have to buy a 40% stake in Skywest. Probably not what they had in mind, unless Skywest is looking to sell XJT outright.

Then they (SKW) pilots would really be demanding the jumpseat!?!?

Fixed it for you.

But in all seriousness, United already owned portions of Commute Air and Republic. Express jet is their largest 145 operator and if they don't stop the mass exodus happening there, United's 145 flying could be at risk.

You all need to ask yourselves, why would UAL/CAL holdings invest in this other company?

Why would they put funds at risk when they can pass that risk on to others and just contract the services?

The answer might be the cost of contracting (out sourcing) is far higher than its return. Basically outsourcing the flying loses more money than doing it in house.

Remember these guys are not pilots who get paid to fly airplanes. They make deals, pass funds amongst each other and get big stock bonuses for their efforts. Follow the money!

And who owns ExpressJet? Wow it's SkyWest!
