It's funny to hear people today complain about CRJ-200's and E-145's. Not too long ago when they had to run around a ramp dodging spinning props and find the right "Jet Scream" or "Scarzillia" going to East Butthole the advent of small jets was akin to the second coming of Christ.

I agree the 200/145 are absolute turds and I deadhead in a 145 fairly often. Nice crews but man the plane is junk. 200 even worse .
I wish they never got rid of the Q400, I thought that plane was great. Just as quite as a 145 and held same people. Yes slower but still.

Don’t worry express crowd, as asked for we’re trying to put you out of business. (Despite the sellout accusations)

That's exactly how it works with a publicly traded company. If by some chance you owned 40% of the outstanding stock, you basically own the place, because at that point you own the board of directors. You don't get what you want, you just use all those votes at the next shareholder's meeting to vote off the board members who are giving you trouble, and vote in a rubber-stamp board who will do your bidding. With that much stock, you are going to overwhelmingly dominate any shareholder meeting. There's really no need to go to all the expense of buying 40%: that's massive overkill, it's like shooting a sparrow with a cannon. If you owned just 5% of the outstanding stock of a listed company, the board would definitely stand up and pay attention when you made noise. If you own 25% of the stock, you'd command enormous control on the board. Why do you think things like foreign ownership are limited to 25%? It's because that's the threshold at which the rest of the shareholders are considered to at least have a fighting chance at fending off someone who owns that much stock. 40%? Hell, at that point you are basically the sole owner. This is a total hypothetical, of course, since the idea of UAL buying enough SKYW stock to own 40% just to offload XJT is nonsense, but your idea that just buying a bunch of stock wouldn't give you control over the company is not really the way the corporate world works.

Now, fast forward to 2020 and the next generation/new generation of Electric Aircraft in the works are based on propeller technology. Then again, the next generation of passengers probably won't have an aversion to propeller aircraft as those in the 90's/00's.
An ATR/Q is the perfect aircraft for short legs flown in the teens/20k range.
