Many large companies are actually moving their offices out of the suburbs and back into Chicago because new college graduates want to live in diverse, progressive, urban, culturally rich places. I know Denver and Dallas both have their share of these qualities, but nowhere near the scale it exists in Chicago.

When you combine all of that with tax incentives, central location, and a worldwide aviation hub like ORD it is not surprising at all that Chicago would be a desirable place for a corporate HQ.

McDonalds just moved their headquarters to the West Loop, that's where all the young people want to be now. Attracting talent is a huge part of the equation.

This is the chart from a United powerpoint third quarter of 2017. The 1000 has less range than the 900 but too many seats. See how closely the 777-2 and 350-9 are on the chart. If they were looking for a square peg for a square hole. Thats all I was pointing out. It is all semantics really they are all cool airplanes.
Oh I agree that the 350-900 is a great 777-200 replacement. Just nitpicking that the -1000 (which is a great replacement for the 777-300) has less range (disregarding the LR) then the 777.

Junior captain in the first snap shot is SFO737 and the number is 9976. Anybody know what that equates to in hire date?

Late ‘12, early ‘13? Post merger hires anyway on the first snap.

Where do you find the snapshots? When do they come out?

Impressive. Last month a 2007 hire could not hold captain, now a 2013 hire can. Almost 6 years shaved off the upgrade time in one month! Of course the gap in hiring during the furloughs explains that.

Correct. There are only a couple hundred numbers between a 2007 hire and a January 2013 hire.

If this trend continues, next month’s bid will have new hire Captains!
