Possible BOS Expansion
It appears that many flight attendant vacancies lately have filled around 500 new slots in addition to the existing 300 already based in the BOS base. Some speculate we may be doing Europe out of there. Anyone know any details as to why their base more than doubled lately?

The explanation I heard is that the FA base was only for one legacy group, UA I believe. Now that they can all fly on any metal it makes sense to allow a near double expansion of the base.
Also, we will be flying the 737 Max to Ireland summer 2019. /s |

Jetblue is going to serve the EU from Boston pretty heavily. Someday. Possibly. Eventually.

At roughly 38 daily mainline departures last time I counted (including a few daily WBs), I think BOS is our biggest non-hub station. Back when I counted, LAS/MCO had 36 and 32 daily (all NB) and CLE only had 20 mainline departures. So, now that they've finally merged an expanded FA base in BOS is not uncalled for.
When the CO announced the reduced FA staffing for international flights, they tried to sweeten the announcement by unveiling new satellite FA bases in PHX/SAN/MCO. It seems the sweetener did not do the trick, judging by the upcoming FA picket. Should be interesting to observe whether those bases actually do get established and/or succeed. |

If they're dumb enough to do that, they will be following in the footsteps of Freddie Laker. Maybe they'll jump in when (near certitude) Norwegian folds its tent?
Luckily for us the people running NAI are terrible at making money, but they are VERY good at setting up advantageous corporate structures. |

NAI will be bought out by a Middle East country and expanded greatly. With ME ownership they can use their own labor laws in any European market and do some serious damage.
