Kind of like an equitable SLI? Equitable is in the eye of the beholder, so no, an equitable contract will never happen because there will always be some who will complain about being screwed.

FWIW the company recently announced satellite FA bases to open next quarter in MCO/PHX/SAN on a test basis with possibly more bases to follow

Satellite bases would be a big benefit for commuters. I'd like to see it, but YMMV. Again, equitable is in the eye of the beholder.

With those "satellites" there comes some restrictions that you don't find at co-domiciles. One thing that stood out was that you have to cover your own sick-calls.

Everything's negotiable.

The problem with satellite bases is you may not have enough reserve coverage to cover the trips. Not an issue with FA's. One FA can cover any position, and on any airplane.

On the pilot side, we need CA's and FO's. and we need them in the right equipment. Harder to do.

We tried this at my commuter. two sick calls in one night killed the operation for the next morning. No way to fly in a reserve to cover the AM departures.

Then how does a base like Cleveland manage? I imagine virtual bases in Orlando or Boston would have larger pilot groups than Cleveland.

It only manages because UAL would rather eat the cost of some reserves than pay moving expenses, and potentially training expenses, for an entire base.

At some point CLE will shrink enough via attrition, the accounting crossover point will be reached, and the base will likely close.

That's a lot of assumptions. GUM is even smaller.

When I was reserve I was utilized system wide. I don't see reserve concerns stopping satellite bases.

I agree wouldn’t be hard with reserves. Simply have reserves there for the appropriate aircraft that are based there . Several smaller Airlines have had many many outstation basing and seemed to worked for decades .
