If someone is new to United, and unsure of reporting requirements, it is wise to speak to a knowledgable APLA supplied SME for guidance rather than ask for un-vetted internet advice of dubious origin due to the reduced contractual protections and experience with CM for newhires.

I thought it was a callsign reference. I didn't think about the movie until Worst brought up Francis.

There are high paying jobs overseas for type rated pilots with PIC time. A320 is in high demand. Does it hurt to have a backup plan if something bad happens in the industry domestically?

It was tongue in cheek. Its happened before, it could happen again.
