That’s a long wait. I interviewed on a Tuesday, flew home that night. Next morning I was mowing the lawn and the phone rang. It was United, offering me a job and a class date in about a month.
Southwest, on the other hand, made me wait almost a month for my rejection letter.

Because Southwest has a review board that meets once a week to review applicants to give their stamp of approval or not. At United your fate is decided after the pilot interviewer walks you back to the lobby go goes back into interview room. It's a simple thumbs up or thumbs down with the HR lady.

4/16 CJO hoping for the last August class. It seems like the email that notifies you of your class date is almost exactly 30 days out. Is that the norm? Did anyone else out there get the email today?
Thanks for the info everyone. This forum is very helpful.

Funny, but is was my lawn. Now if I was working for a lawn service then went to a major, that would be inspiring😀!

That matters because those pilots only need to give UA 30 days of notice of their desire to return. So, UA will wait until 30 days prior to a class date to invite New Hires, as at that point in time they know how many slots in the class will be filled by furlough returns.
The number of these folks that remain out is less than 50, and while we definitely would welcome them back, I don't consider it likely that many of those that remain out right now will actually be coming back.
Until we get to the November and beyond classes, this 30 day notice will be the norm.
