I had a CP meet and greet in August and it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The CP I met with made the meeting feel like a conversation more so than an interview. Of course I was asked "Why United?" however everything else was conversational. It did not result in a airlineapps write up, so I'm not sure if it led to an HR email or just nothing at all. Still waiting to hear back!

Both the guys I have brought into the CPO have gotten invites within a month. Just be patient. You'll get it

I also had a Meet N Greet in August at IAD, actually the IAD Chief AND the System Chief were there and it (seemed to) go really really well. Still haven't heard anything back yet though.

I have a question about asking a United guy to submit my name for a chief pilot meet and greet. I have a LOR from a previous CA at my airline who is now a pretty new United pilot. I asked him about chief pilot meet and greets and he said it wouldn't mean much coming from him as he was brand new and its based on company longevity. While I assume this is true, would it be worth anything for him to submit it? Just curious what the rules are on chief pilot meet and greets. Thanks guys!

Sorry to hear that. Completely false. New guys submit guys all the time and get meet and greets for there buddies. Some even in new hire ground. Not based on longevity

That is good to hear. I'll have to talk to him again and have him submit it. I would say its still worth it to submit for the meet and greet even if it is based on how long they have been at the company. Worst case they say no!

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.

Same experience here, different base. Also attended the hiring event in DEN last month and spoke to a hiring manager who also seemed enthusiastic. Nothing yet.

Had one in August as well and I haven't heard anything back yet. My fingers are still crossed!

Hey if you don’t mind me asking… what is this process exactly? I have a few friends at UA that are recent new hires and I’m wondering if I can ask them to do this for me. This is a separate process than them writing me a LOR through the UA addendum, right? Do they physically take a resume to a CP office? Or submit something online? Sorry for the questions but just want to know exactly how to ask a friend or two if they can do this for me.

thank you!

Every base has a slightly different process to request a CP meet and greet. Just have your friends talk to their CPO and find out the nuts and bolts. To answer your one of your questions, though, yes, it is a different process than your application.
