New hire. Know things could dump/change/viral outbreak/terrorist/Murphy At any moment but assuming we maintain a solid hiring and retirement trajectory can anyone comment a wag estimate on time (with company) to get a seat WB FO at SFO or EWR? Thanks!

After the last vacancy bid that closed in December (a new one closes in a week) we had the following:
Junior pilot on the property = approx 12700
Junior CAP in EWR 10568
Junior 777 FO in EWR 10822
Junior CAP in SFO 10831
Junior 777 FO in SFO 11317
So, you would need to move up about 1400 numbers from the bottom to be the most junior 777 FO and about 1900 numbers to be the most junior Captain. How long it would take to hire those numbers is the great unknown. Based on current hiring it would be very fast, but hiring can change in the blink of an eye.
With no growth and no shrinkage, it would take just over 3 years worth of retirements to get to 1400 and just over 4 years to get to 1900.

That’s what great about United and Airlines in general.....you can bid for whatever you want....and if you don’t like what you are doing just change your bid! Lots of people don’t want to fly to China or WB long haul. Some people hate domestic flying because they already did that on an RJ. Choice is great, but choose wisely
