They don’t care about you. You have to care about them. It’s the game. Play it.
I would certainly make life easier if you got a degree, even though, it can be in anything, so by that, a degree is really a way to weed out a certain number of the population.

Keep in mind their are many more new instructors on the 737 fleet, some of which have not been an instructor for a long time and may have difficulty correcting training issues with students within the time frame given.

I fly with a lot of probies. There has only been one I wasn't entirely happy to fly with but it wasn't egregious enough for me to report the probie. Almost every single one of them have been great to fly with.

For you probies, just a tip: if the captain asks you to monitor guard, don't respond with, 'why don't you do it'?

Not egregious enough?! Based on time of day and state of caffination I would have had to dig deep to come up with a calm response. How about, “thanks for the help, I guess I’ll dial it in for you!”

“I weep for the future!”

You should have smiled and cheerily replied, "last leg for you!"
