Over reliance on the guppy is why we can’t have nice profit sharing. Its amazing that what Delta is doing with A-330s and A-321s in plain site, but United is going to somehow make the guppy MAX work when most people say they won’t fly on it. Whatever costs savings there are for using the plane, its not worth it.

Delta revenue shares as much international flying as they can. Meaning they don’t buy a bunch of 787 and 777, they give their heavy flying to codeshare partners. Look at their wide body fleet compared to ours. Also, the majority of their ground service employees are part time contract employees with little or no benefits. It’s not a 737 issue, they run an entirely different operation with a much different revenue stream. Be careful what you wish for. PS the 737 Max was FAR exceeding performance it originally advertised. You think anyone buying a $300 fare to MCO will remember in a year?

If they sort by price low to high and it's on top—they’ll buy the ticket.

That's why Spirit is still in business. It's not the on-time performance or phenomenal cabin comforts.

There is a lot of bashing of the MAX. But the truth is, the plane is efficient and nice to fly on as well (it is much quieter than the older model). Once the MCAS situation gets worked out, it will be back in the air making money for decades. It will also be one of the safest planes flying.

As it becomes increasingly long-term storage, is there any talk about moving the MAX's from the HOU humidity out to the desert?

This. For the right price most people will forget almost anything.

Don't even worry about the price. Americans have very short memories.

I'm not a guppy fan but I was impressed with the performance of the completely full -900 when I rode the jump seat recently.
