I live in San Rafael and take the Marin Airporter. It’s super easy and runs every 30 min to hourly depending on which stop you get on at. Departs every 30 min from SFO.
Takes about an hour, drops you off right the curb upstairs at Terminal 3 and I don’t have to drive, park, or pay bridge tolls. I give myself 1.5-2 hours depending on time of day/week.
You can buy a commuter book and the YBR site will issue a check for $265 tax free. Comes out to about $6.50 each way.

Only problem with the airporter is it stops at 1130pm. Not a bad deal otherwise.

Call me crazy but I’ll take first class in my fine German automobile for 2-3.5 hours down to SFO any day of the week, regardless of rush hour.

No traffic it’s an 1:15 minute drive. Peak rush hour probably add an hour to be comfortable.
There’s also an airport bus that leaves hourly. Only 2 stops after Santa Rosa and it’s about 2:30 total.
You wouldn’t want to do a lot of early shows or day trips but it’s not too bad.
Petaluma or anywhere south of Petaluma would be better if you can afford it.

And there are LOTS of sketchy people. Riding it always made me on-edge. Or standing alone on the platform late at night.

Not UAL, but SFO based next door.
Santa Cruz is about 1:00-1:30 drive. If there is traffic (not the middle of the night), take the coastal highway. As relaxing and enjoyable of a drive as there is, until the commute traffic in Half Moon Bay which is tolerable.
Whatever you do, include in your analysis the traffic patterns both to and from work.
