Agreed. Unless it’s a van full of people I go $5. Even on a 4 day trip that’s only $35 in tips. Makes me mad to see guys tip $1…especially captains. Sad thing is half the drivers look surprised and ask if I want change because they’re so used to getting stiffed.

Curious—with Bay Area rolling power blackouts, are charging stations affected? Or do they only shut down neighborhoods? Not that they have them often, but they do happen in the West Bay.

I believe some rural areas may have had their power shutoff for high winds this year but I don't think that affected very many people.
Long story short, rolling blackouts aren't an issue.

There were 2 days in 2020 where electricity demand exceeded supply. People generally lost their power for less than 2 hours. We had no rolling blackouts because of demand in 2021.

Day to day, I don’t think it’s something to worry about or consider, but it does touch everyone.
Except us here in Sac. And a few other places on independent grids (Oakland, Palo Alto maybe, etc.)

Anyone live in Phoenix and commute to SFO? Curious about QOL and catching flights to jumpseat. Thanks

I'd like to know about anyone that does the sfo-las commute. Got based out that way on a NB. Anyone out there doing it that can share some insights please and thanks?

If you are familiar with Priority Pass, there is a lounge close to UA gates - but they need to scan a real boarding pass.

I am familiar enough. I think UA has a few more flights than Alaska (formerly Virgin). As you may already realize, the flight loads advertised are not always realistic. Be conservative, and go the night before and buy a hotel, if it makes sense. If you are buying tickets (Employee discount), then it’s a whole lot less stress.

Why don’t you do a simple google search and let us know what you find. I’m interested to but too lazy to type priority pass into a search engine.
