SFO pilots, where do you live?
Where do all you local SFO based guys/gals live? Wondering where the affordable communities with good schools are within reasonable driving distance to the airport.
I'm guessing a lot of guys and gals in Sacramento...?

Yeah near SAC is most frequent answer esp spots like Davis. Next would prob be Petaluma followed by Santa Cruz/Monterey. Last and very few are within one hour drive in East/South Bay. Flown with a few guys that live on Peninsula who all bought their place in 80’s.

Granite Bay, Loomis, and Rocklin have the better public schools in the Sacramento region.
Prices in those communities have gone up quite a bit in the last 4 years... as it has everywhere. But you should give it a strong look.
Many I know really like Folsom. I'd choose Lincoln over Roseville. If you aspire to own your own airplane and/or be near a GA airport, Lincoln Airport is a good option.

To quote a United pilot I know..."man if I ever rob like 5 banks I'm going to buy a place in the Monterey or Carmel"

He’s being facetious of course. You only have to rob 3 banks to live in Monterey or Carmel. 5 would put you in Palo Alto.

Plan on the drive to the SFO employee lot from the intersection of I-80 and Hwy 65 to be 1+40 with no traffic (Saturday and Sunday morning... middle of the night). I plan to be at that point 3+45 prior to show time on most weekday mornings. That timing allows me to get to the parking and get to Ops in a leisurely manner (about 20-25 minutes from the time I swipe my card at the employee lot until I arrive in Ops)... and still give me time to get my iPad read, updated, do Hawaii charts, whatever. Only a few times on weekday morning has that timing been a bit close... but I've never been late.
3+45 works in most worse-case scenarios... except Sunday afternoons. I avoid those like the plague and don't have good timings for you.
I stop at the Park & Ride in Vallejo if I'm going in on the morning commute, and pick up two riders so that I can go through the HOV lanes. Much like the "slug lines" for those of you that are familiar with Pentagon commuting. It saves a few minutes.
