Furlough Returns / LOA's still out
 

Is there any way to know how many Furlough returns / Loa's that might still be out and possibly returning before they fall off the list late this fall?

Yes there is.

The UAL ALPA SSC (System Schedule Committee) tracks and publishes this info in its monthly update.

From the May 2019 report:

"There are now 43 remaining extended furloughed pilots on the list with various 10-year expiration dates thru November 10th 2019."

This is from the May 19 SSC report regarding furlough returns.

The important thing for folks floating in the pool is the fact that most of these pilots are NOT returning.

At this point they can all hold narrowbody CA or widebody FO and still have not returned. In addition, the number remaining drops monthly.

Thanks - I'm one of them and wasn't sure how many more. Not totally sure what I'll do so I doubt there's a way to know about the others. No matter - it'll be over soon.

Would you be willing to elaborate on what other career path you’re considering?

I know of at least one that lost his medical and will never return.

He was embarrassed to tell his new in-laws he's an airline pilot, so he's doing porn instead.

I'm flying corporate which might be a step below doing porn -)
